GH2 Solar evaluates onsite Solar RESCO and eligible open-access solar supply for automotive OEMs and component manufacturers. The assessment starts with plant electricity demand, production schedules, available space and the intended procurement model.
Minimum long-term credit ratings apply: A- for onsite RESCO and BBB+ for open access. Onsite opportunities are assessed across India; open-access supply is assessed in Maharashtra and Rajasthan, subject to buyer and project feasibility.

Assess roof condition, structural suitability, access and installation interfaces before committing plant space or shutdown time.
Separate electricity procurement from process-fuel changes, backup power and vehicle charging; each has a different demand profile and design requirement.

Start with the production calendar
Record interval electricity demand for normal production, low-output periods and shutdowns. Identify material changes planned for assembly, machining, utilities or charging loads. Solar output and plant demand may not coincide throughout the year; the assessment should show the assumptions used for self-consumption and surplus handling.
Compare onsite RESCO and open-access procurement
For onsite RESCO, review usable roof or land, metering, site access and the long-term operating arrangement. For open access, review the drawal location, applicable charges, losses, settlement arrangements and contracted energy against plant demand. Compare alternatives on a consistent delivered-cost basis. Savings require the facility’s actual bill and a current commercial proposal.
When should storage be assessed?
Storage merits a separate study where surplus generation, shutdown periods or time-of-use requirements create a defined need. Size it from the required power, energy duration and operating duty. Suzuki’s July 2026 Kharkhoda announcement describes storage of surplus and holiday solar generation for later production use. This is an industry example, not a GH2 Solar customer or project reference.
Protect production requirements
A renewable electricity contract does not by itself replace the facility’s backup and power-quality arrangements. Define critical loads, operating interfaces and installation windows with the plant team. Any hydrogen, process-heat or mobility requirement should be scoped separately instead of treating it as a standard addition to a solar procurement proposal.

Frequently asked questions
Can component suppliers enquire as well as vehicle manufacturers?
Yes. GH2 Solar evaluates eligible industrial facilities against the same project-size, credit-rating, location and technical requirements. Automotive-sector membership alone does not establish eligibility.
Which procurement route fits a plant with limited roof space?
Open-access supply can be assessed for eligible requirements from 1 MW in Maharashtra and Rajasthan. The drawal point, state requirements, load profile and commercial terms determine suitability.
Will a solar project supply the factory continuously?
Solar generation varies with daylight and weather. Continuous plant operation requires the appropriate grid, backup and, where justified, storage arrangements. Any firm-supply commitment must be separately designed and contracted.
Does an automotive plant need hydrogen to use renewable electricity?
No. Solar electricity procurement can be assessed independently. Hydrogen requires a defined application, demand specification, safety assessment and separate technical and commercial evaluation.
